Where a youthful dream in a world of opportunity begins, so too does a harrowing tragedy. Adam, Brenden, Desmond, Tells, and Rowan are five well-to-do dudes in the fantasy world of Rhial. Adam is big, green, not to mention the hero. Brenden isn't sure if he's more of an alien or an elf. Desmond is a regular human and happy about it. Tells is terrified of not being a guy. And Rowan is a vampire with an insatiable thirst for blood. They have an interesting mix, but discovering all those things about themselves is really terrifying, especially since they aren't in their bodies, or in their world. These five college-aged guys got dropped into their new bodies in the middle of the woods with no warning after a tragic highway accident. They don't even know what they look like until they tell each other. Then they get woken up by none other than Vetia the Vampire Hunter. 🔥 What to expect: 🩸 - Uncertainty as you explore this new world through the characters' eyes. - Fast-paced action sequences with heavy focus on realistic combat. - Contemplative, introspective, emotional moments. - A character-driven story that matures with its characters. - Stronger focus on internal conflict and dialogue. - Literary elements. - 5 first-person POVs that switch each chapter. - Shorter early chapters and longer later chapters (ranges from 900 words to 20k words). Kiyotaka and the seven others of his age awakened in the darkness without remembering anything but their names. It was another world called Grimgar. A world where humans live together with elves, dwarves, goblins, orcs, centaurs, and various other creatures out of fairy tales. The eight of them were guided to a fortress city called Alterna, and were implicitly coerced to fight for the city as volunteer soldiers. And while Kiyotaka could do it by himself, there is a distinct advantage to cooperation, and he seeks a purpose beyond that---the truth of his existence in Grimgar. '---who, or what, sent us to this world? What is their purpose? Is it possible for us to remember what happened before waking from that darkness? And just what was inside of the forgotten memories?' He was curious. That was the impetus. This is the tale of Kiyotaka seeking to satisfy his greatest curiosity---and of course, with the comrades he makes along the way. *** A/N: At the moment, I mostly do a rewrite around the style of writing. To the readers, it'll basically make them easier when they rereading the fic. More than that, though, I'll do some definite and possibly big changes, of course. I'll suggest you to read (or reread) this for an enhanced experience. But if you're lazy to reread, the Core of the Story will still the same up 'till Arc 4/4.5. You can wait that long if you want to.
