"Neither of us can be with those we truly love."

You know when your parents ask you that if your best friend told you jump off a bridge, would you? Rowen Cath-Lee always replied with yes whenever his mother asked him.

Childhood love, stemming from a sandbox born friendship. Rowen believed that Jackson Brettwood had the warmth of the sun exuding from his very being. He had followed him like a lost puppy all throughout their early years. But they were no longer pre-teens but juniors in high school, and Jackson was still as oblivious as ever to Rowen's feelings.

Hugh Clifton was on the soccer team with Jackson. He had become close with Jackson through playing together year after year, but him and Rowen never became friends, they were barely acquaintances even though they had gone out and been to many parties together - they never said more than a few words to each other. Hugh Clifton being the closest to Rowen and Jackson's relationship than anyone else he can't help but notice how obvious Rowen is.

Through the troublesome predicaments that come with one-sided love, Rowen and Hugh had become more close-knit than they ever thought they would.
