Throughout his whole life, Gage Droilan had lived in a society where everything was the same- the buildings, the streets, even the people. When a child graduates, they are taken to receive the Upgrade, and finally join Society as Citizens- independent adults who help make Society a better place, by following the Rules and working without objection. Reaching the end of his final year of Education, Gage believes he is ready to make things better for the world as a Citizen. But when he becomes friends with a mysterious girl he meets on the street, he catches a glimpse into seeing that all may not be what it seems when it comes to the Upgrade. Will Gage receive the Upgrade, and become a Citizen, as he always dreamed? Or will he refuse to change, and join Deception and her band of misfits in their fight against Society itself? **Warning- Harsh language is contained in this story. FREAK

Imagine a future where your body was altered at age 10 to be "perfect." The dark side of the altercation shows itself when one boy gets suspicious. Everything you wished was provided to you. You never were expected to do a thing. There's just one rule: never refuse to be altercated or you suffered the consequences. This is the life of ten year old Noah and twenty five year old Amber. Unfortunately, Noah's time has come. His altercation looms over him like the stress of death itself. Can Amber help Noah and others after him from morphing into 'perfection'? Or will Noah and many others suffer the same fate as the ones beforehand?
