born blind eleanor, a maid in the royal palace, is picked on by other Maids. She is hit, Taken advantage of, as well as gossiped about. All she wants to do is live a peaceful life but that's hard when she has such a big secret. Eleanor can see ghosts, demons, and Souls of the living.
Being hated since birth by both her parents and the people around her she has learned to read the emotions within a soul. she uses the knowledge so she can stay out of trouble. But Eleanor isn't alone she has Anya, Chris and last but not least Andrew. Anya and Chris are her best friends while Andrew is her guide through life.
Andrew believes he owes Eleanor and so he pledged his loyalty to her forgetting his previous Lord. But of course not only does she need to fear threats from the living but also from demons. they wish to eat her heart just because of a legend.
The legend is if a demon eats the heart of a human with "the sight" they will gain immense power and become invincible in both the human world and in their demonic world. As mentioned before Andrew believes he owes Eleanor so he will protect her at any cost even if it means his soul being devoured by a demon.
But of course everyone has secrets and so does Andrew once Eleanor meets a man he becomes even more protective of her than usual telling her to keep away from him and that she needs to leave as soon as possible. But the man he's so desperately trying to keep her away from becomes curious about Eleanor, and well this man is only showing the soft gentle kind side of him he keeps her away from his other side. The sides Eleanor will discover herself but of course life isn't that easy not only does this man wish to satisfy his curiosity but so does another.
Andrew knows this man he served this man and believes he can protect Eleanor better than he could ever hope to for he is blessed by the Gods.
