Imagine hearing words that you can't understand. It was like visiting a country you've never been to without a dictionary. It feels nonsensical. It feels... like another world.

Maybe your ears are broken, or maybe you are crazy. Or maybe you're correct. But you wouldn't know that... why would you? Besides, you wouldn't need to know that.

I'm sure it'll all be Ϝⲓⲛⲉ.

This story takes place in Teyvat. Teyvat and all the characters from it are from Hoyoverse's game 'Genshin Impact'

But there are flashbacks (you'll know when you read it) from an apocalyptic world based off of Earth's future if we overpopulate and trash it. There is mentions of the Plague of Justinian, Black Death, and the Third Plague - all started from the bacteria called Yersina Pestis.

Yersina Pestis was originally found in rats before it learned and evolved. It can now go into fleas, blocking their blood intake. This makes fleas go onto other animals or humans where it will bite and the bacteria will be released into your bloodstream. This is the cause of the Bubonic Plague, a variant of the Black Death.

I decided to adapt the changes of Yersina Pestis and fictionalize it while also trying to keep its dangers in mind. Trigger warnings will be at the start of each chapter. You must also know: you DO NOT start with a name. You get a name later in the story when you learn Teyvat's language, which will be referred to as Basic.

You must read this with an open mind, because Traveler literally has a voice line talking with Paimon about how great Traveler has been doing at learning how to speak Teyvat's language. I'm adapting this and applying it to this character, yourself. I am also somewhat implying that the first Decender may have played a role in how Teyvat speaks today.

Thank you.
