This story takes place 10 years after the events we all know from the Sonic series.
All of Sonic's friends, including Sonic himself, know pain. Sonic knows the pain of failing to save someone. Tails knows what it is like to not meet his own expectations. But no-one knows pain like Shadow does. For years he has held his heartbreak and fear inside himself, but, when he finally starts to break, he needs someone there for him. And guess who steps up to the task?

Despite the life threatening situation, Shadow and Amy's connection grows closer and closer which ultimately leads to them having an affair which eventually leads them to being together, much to the disdain of not only Sonic, but to the entire group, unfortunately, it later becomes a weakness which will give Mephiles a possible one up against the team Will Amy and the rest of the crew find a cure for Shadow's condition or will he forever be Mephiles' murderous puppet?
