"Who's your brother?"
"The King of Lyra. She spins me around and off the dance floor, before turning on her heel.
"Wait!" I call, chasing after her. I dash through the ballroom, weaving through the mass of people. I soon get to a small servant's corridor, leading out. I slip through there, my heels echoing on the marble floor as I quickly walk down the hallway. I freeze as I see her, perched on a tree branch, the window open and her hair freed from the fake wig.
"Why have you followed me?"
"Because I-" I take a step forward with my hands on the sill of the window as she leans in close.
"Listen here Princess," her nose is a hair's-breadth away, "I was never here, don't think about me, don't talk about me, I'm invisible. You hear me?" She leans even closer and I feel my heart pounding and leaping into my throat as butterflies stumbled through my chest.
"O-okay, but what's your na-." She was already swinging down from the branch on the tree, landing silently into the ground. I turn away from the window, my heart pounding in my chest, and press myself back against the cool stone wall. The wind from the window nipped at my flushed cheeks. What is wrong with me?
