Vesper is the sole survivor of the Shattered Lunar Crown Massacre.
Rowan is the illegitimate son of the Daisy Crown's Duke.
Both mind-benders and working in the Twilight Theatre, they are best friends but on opposite sides of the spectrum: Vesper would do anything to regain her noble status, and Rowan wants nothing to do with nobles and aristocrats.
When the King calls for a Crown Game this year, Vesper is invited as a performer while Rowan is invited to be a participant. Whoever wins the Crown Games gets to join the aristocracy or nobility.
There's something strange going on in the Capital City. Would they figure it out?

Disclaimer: For anyone who has done theatre, the depictions here may not be accurate. I know this would be the wrong answer: The world just has a different way of how things work.

A retelling of the Hades and Persephone myth, a story of fate, the struggle for power, and love found in the most unexpected places. ***** Persephone has been raised in Olympus all her life - her mother absent, her father a cruel king, with her siblings teaching her all they know. She has seen all of what the gods and goddesses do and she is sick of it. When she learns her safety is threatened by staying in Olympus, she flees to the Underworld. There she stays until she learns that her leaving has caused the world to wilt. But leaving behind her newfound friends and Lady of the Underworld is something she will not do willingly, no matter the consequences.
