Veronica Sawyer was an iconic name. And so that was what she called herself.

She would've liked to be simple, with the basic life of demigods for a backstory-mortal parent didn't want her, she ended up a year-rounder. But the Fates didn't like Veronica's goals for life, so they gave her one part of that backstory without the other.

Her life so far had been anything but ordinary, even for a half-blood. And a green-eyed son of Poseidon was about to make it even more complicated. And all it took to do that was one question.
