Aru Shah's life is horrible. Everything is so boring and plain, and she's always covering up her sorrow to keep her mother happy. Until one day, her mother comes home with a marriage proposal. Aru has had enough and plans on running away, but slowly she starts to realize that she might actually be falling for him.
