Lord Featherington is dead. Penelope is out shopping when she first sees him. Her Father, looking very much alive. "Dear Gentle Readers, There is a creature a foot, I heed warning, be sure to all be in your homes before the darkness of night. Lock your windows and doors. I do not say this warning in jest. There is a monster on the loose. Speculation that it is a wolf and that it has already barred its teeth into the town gentle folk. I myself have seen a mere image of the creature and I speak to you in earnest. Be afraid. This will be the last we speak for some time. Stay warm, the bitter cold and the bitter smell of death has revealed its ugly head. Stay safe, stay together and if you can, stay armed gentle readers. God Speed. yours Lady Whistledown LADY WISTLEDOWN'S SOCIETY PAPER'S, 10 March1824"
