Salem is a foster care "adult" with bad anxiety. But then, she finds a certain letter, and decides to return to her childhood home. But theres one problem. She has a lot of secrets, including her Gotoric roots. And if anyone finds out, she can kiss her decent reputation goodbye. When she arrives, she's greeted my both old and new friends. She tries to lift Sebastian out of his depression, helps Abby come out, and becomes Sam and Penny's secret matchmaker. But in the valley, she finds more magic than she left behind.
I noticed the Gotoro empire was never that expanded on, and I thought, what if it wasn't as much of a straightforward war as its told to be? Who's the real bad guy here? Be prepared for heavy angst.

But when she meets his dark haired, moody and pessimistic friend Sebastian, who is the complete opposite of Sam, she becomes enthralled with him, wanting to crack through his tough exterior to see what lies beneath. Sebastian is everything she wants, but knows she doesn't need. She knows how he is, because she is the same way. He's like a carbon copy of herself and that only intrigues her more.
