Writer's Notes: This story was inspired by another fanfiction titled "WoF: Lightning Striking" by Thegamersdragon on fanfiction.net. I would just like to thank them since that one fanfic made me dive deeper into other WoF fanfics and gave me the inspiration to make my first story, which is this one.

Still, Shrike remains tethered to the Queen and his tribe. Years of lost wars, unfulfilled treaties, and an excessively lavish lifestyle lived by their ruler, Queen Markhor, have left the SkyWing tribe impoverished and starving, and Shrike, the princess's personal bodyguard, has witnessed the consequences of the Queen's ignorance firsthand. A diplomacy meeting with the SeaWings gone wrong erupts in yet another bloody war, and Shrike is swept up in battle before finding himself caught in between the jaws of the political turmoil that seem to be tearing his tribe apart from the inside out.
