Aster Fay was an avid reader of Darren Pike who passed away after a meteor hit the diner where he agreed to meet the writer following his bad review. He woke up thinking that he was in the afterlife but quickly discovered that he was transported to the said novel as the antagonist Som Vaiyasingha.

Determined to change the fate of the character and not suffer a torturous death, Aster as Som did everything in his willpower to alter Som's personality completely shifting the course of the story only to find out that there was something more in the novel that he wasn't prepared for...
