Mature
A 700 hundred year old love story of a common girl, and a prince of England, and the relationship that founded a dynasty. John of Gaunt and Katherine Swynford's decades long love affair, their children, and many grandchildren are by now the stuff of legends. Unable to marry due to their stations the lovers will weather many storms as time and fate threatens to tear them apart.

Inspired by true events.

In all technicality this takes place at the same time primarily as Epiphany Rising, however, it makes a little more sense to read it after as that lays out the timeline a bit better.

Content/Trigger Warning: some strong language, grief is discussed. Sensuality and discussions of sexual relationships. It is clear throughout that a man is having an affair while married. Pregnancy and child birth, and loss of children discussed at length. Be aware of your mental state and seek help as needed. Alcohol use.

The tortures one can endure for love. Marriage takes effort, and no one will find out just how much effort it takes like Sanya Pevensie will. Quests and transformations and mortality, and struggles painful enough that the Sanya who had been a Princess could never have imagined. Grief drives even the most wise of people to rashness, and no one understands that more than Edmund Pevensie does. Brash brothers, compatriots that were once enemies, and a Narnia that the Edmund of the Golden Age would not have recognised. But marriage and grief are not the fortΓ© for all. Susan prefers solemnity, and brooding in silence. Lucy thinks listening is all she can do, in her little body. Peter must protect his land, damned be the pretty dark eyes of the Prince who had stolen his home. And how easy humans are to manipulate? No one knows that better than the Faerie Queen. - π—ͺ𝗔π—₯π—‘π—œπ—‘π—šπ—¦: Dark themes, violence, strong language, nonconsensual voyeurism, self-harm, attempted suicide, sexual scenes, mental and physical torture, use of f-slur, unintentional animal abuse, dubious sexual consent, reflection on past trauma, memory of attempted rape and assault, murder. . . . . . #3 in #narniaau (27/06/2022) #7 in #medievalfantasy (27/06/2022) #90 in #faeries (8/8/2022) β€’β€’β€’β€’ The Alliance Series, as found on @EdsGryff: 'Alliance' 'The Heirs' 'Moonshine' 'Fairytale?' β€’β€’β€’β€’

Enough torment to cripple the divine. But Sanya found Edmund, at the end of it all. He held her in his arms again. They were reunited. After all the pain, there was love. And love seemed enough to give up everything- yet again. Love was enough to take his hand, and walk into another realm. But new worlds do not fix old aches- and they can even end up creating new ones. New people, new sights, new moments do not take away from the memories of the old. Loss- of home, of family, of love, of identity, of everything- can be pushed back, but the agony of it festers like an untreated wound. And, really, is love- even love that has survived so much- enough to cure so many wounds, borne of too many kinds of pain? But Sanya doesn't care. Edmund thinks that he doesn't care, either. They have each other again- no amount of teachers and separate schools and parents can keep them away from each other- and that togetherness was what was important. That was what mattered. But the question is, I suppose- is the once-True lying to her love, or to herself, or both? - π—ͺ𝗔π—₯π—‘π—œπ—‘π—š: Mature language, explicit sexual scenes, use of slurs, attempted suicide, self-harm, racism, queerphobia, mention of internalised homophobia, violence, recollection of trauma. - #3 in #narniaau #4 in #medievalfantasy #5 in #skandarkeynes #5 in #ocfanfiction #7 in #worldwar2 #8 in #narniafanfiction #28 in #1940s #31 in #kingsandqueens β€’β€’β€’β€’ The Alliance Series, as found on @EdsGryff: 'Alliance' 'The Heirs' 'Moonshine' 'Fairytale?' β€’β€’β€’β€’

There used to be a time where the world feared Locatlie. This time was merely decades ago. They thought that the Locatlie family was untouchable, they couldn't come near anyone anymore after the War of hearts. But the people that lived through the War of Hearts got soft, they either died or forgot it happened in the first place. Their children got children and those children forgot whom they were dealing with. Nobody thought that anybody could compete with Queen Julia. The queen whom brought down nations. Until I came along. You think Julia had it rough? Pfft. Her life was a fucking cake walk compared to mine- but lets not get ahead of the story. Julia might be the queen that brought down the nations, but I was the one that made them beg for mercy while burned them all to the ground. Important information: You can read this story without reading the Locatlie series, but it will spoil the Locatlie series for you. If you like books that close off chapters and you like reading long stories, read the Locatlie series first. :) Warning: This story contains physical abuse, mental abuse and sexual abuse.
