When Jaxon loses a bet and is forced to visit the old, abandoned asylum in the forest surrounding his college, he never expected to bring anything back with him.
A paranormal mystery featuring an asexual, demiromantic protagonist, his agender best friend who uses xe/xem pronouns, a transgender spirit from the past, and an immortal psychology teacher.

Cricket Peterson was born and raised in Blanco, Texas and never desired leaving. It wasn't necessary. Not after her parents retired to Italy and she was left to tend for their lavender farm. She loves the lavender hills and spent most of her childhood in them with a local who quickly became her inseparable best friend. The only downside to their friendship is his sister. Despite her childhood antics, however, it turns out Lyle's sister may be at her wits end. After leaving university in NYC, she returns home at a cost. Her parents want her to be married, or at least dating. Problem is, they can't stand one another. After moving onto Cricket's property, Aster finds herself oddly curious about the woman.
