On your 18th birthday, you get sent to an alternate universe with your soulmate for a year. no way of connection with anyone other than your soulmate. meaning, when you open your phone the only contact you will find on your phone, will be your soulmates. it will only be you, and your soulmate in the same city. Both soulmates get put in separate hotel rooms for the year you spend in the reality. A couple twist though. A year in this alternate universe is only one singular night in reality. There's also a chance that after the year of being with your soulmate is over, you or your soulmate could forget everything. But never both people at a time, only one. And if your soulmate is older than you, they wouldn't have gotten a dream on their birthday, and would have to wait for their soulmate's birthday, meaning their soulmate would be younger than them.
