"You can take it to school but you won't get another if you loose it."

"I know."

"Don't let anyone borrow it."

"Yeah."

"Don't say anything mean with it."

"Of course I won't."

"Okay, you can go now. Don't talk to strangers on your way to school! Don't show off your phone, just use it!"

"Yep!"

~~~~~~
Violet got her first phone when she was 18, for her birthday. Angela had one since fifth grade, Kayla got hers four years ago, a graduation present from 8th grade. Violet got hers a week ago, and she loves it. Even though she doesn't have many friends, she can still call her dad, who comes back once in a while from Florida to visit her as often as he can, which isn't very often. She thought she knew all the rules. Don't talk to strangers and don't take candy from them. Don't steal, don't say bad words, don't walk down dark alleys at night, and don't stay up too late on school nights. The main ones her mom set up that still apply to her, hanging on the fridge. She never thought they would be hard to follow, but everything changes when you can't see the face of who you're talking to.
"Bianca what the fuck was that?" David says to me as we walk inside his house. The whole car ride was silent, no one uttered a word and I don't know why. I hate silence. Silence allows the brain to think about a lot of shit over and over. He already had a lot of things replaying in his head. He probably thought about how to reply to my comments. He just had this whole conversation planned out already. "What was what?" I reply sitting down on the couch. I sigh of relief that I finally got a chance to take off my heels. "Y'all got something going on between y'all, don't y'all?" David replies standing up "I don't know what you're talking about" I unzip my jacket sitting it down beside me. I knew my nonchalantness would piss him off. "Bianca stop fucking playing with me" David spat back. He's not the type to raise his voice during an argument. You knew he was mad when he starts cursing at you and says your name all in the same sentence. "I'm not doing anything. I don't know what or who you're talking about David" I take out my phone and start to text Parish telling her how the event went. "You fucking Chris aren't you?" I just looked up at him making a stank face and then back down at my phone. "Hello? I'm talking to you" David stands in front of me. I wasn't in the mood to bicker back and forth with him right now. I could've just told him yes, but he didn't want to know the truth. He smacks my phone out of my hand. I look up at him "Are you fucking him?!" He yells at me and that took me off guard. "No!" I shout back at him. "Are we done yelling?" I ask calmly raising an eyebrow. "You think this shit funny?" He questions "Go home"
With panic on the rise, and global tensions rapidly following suit, can Vincent and her friends find the cure before it's hard shutdown? **NaNoWriMo 2017** Complete in the sense that I'll probably never write any more of this story. I might edit it someday, though. I had a decent idea when I started, but that quickly went out the window.
My phone kept ringing, I already knew it was Dakota, he's my childhood best friend. "Just take your brother to school, please!" She exclaimed. She looked miserable. I shut the door and smelled the freshly cut grass. I smiled to myself knowing it was my dad's favorite smell. "Alexandria! We're gonna be late, can you stop daydreaming and get in the car." My brother, Cory hollered. He hates to think about dad. He just forgets. I Jeep Wrangler and I started the car, Cory rolled down his windows. "Are we sitting together at lunch today?" Cory asked me. "No I want you to sit with your friends, I'll be alright alone." I told him. "Alright Alex, believe it or not I actually love you. And I love you enough to tell you, you need friends." He admitted. "Have fun. Love you too, Corky." I laughed at the name I gave him when I was a kid. He smiled at me then left into the school. I went on to go to a flower shop. I stopped and got out. I walked in the shop. "Ally, do you have my order, the cars running?" I asked Ally. "Yeah Alex, I have it. Your order for 1 dozen Chocolate Cosmos, 2 dozen Daises, and 1 dozen yellow Roses." "Thanks Ally." I grabbed all the flowers then ran back to the car. I drove to the grave. I threw all my stuff into my bag. I grabbed the flowers and I pulled my bag over my shoulder and got out. I looked around and saw people young and old coming here to see their loved ones. I saw my families graves. Almost my whole family will be buried here. My grandpa always said it was sacred. I put the Cosmos on my dad's grave. The Daises on my grandmothers and the Roses on my grandpas. I talked and talked to them till I pull my pack of cigarettes out of my bag along with a lighter. I put the cancer stick in my mouth and lit it. "You guys are probably really mad right now. Blame peer pressure in 9th grade."
