Nearly one year after Marshadow attacked the Bolt Guild and the Continent of Malena the Shadows are re-emerging from their dark realm. Zax, Jet, Alpha, and Omega plunge into the Shadow Realm in hopes of saving the usurped king Marshadow and defeating the current King of Shadows before he activates the Gamma Gate, destroying the barrier between the two realms in the process. However she also had a strange Pokemon called Nihilego in an odd Pokeball Elio didn't recognize. They decide to look for someone or some place that Selene might remember, along the way they are attacked by Team Skull. A powerful and evil team that sends chills down the spines of whoever hears the name. The team rule the region of Alola, those who don't conform to their rules and run in fear are sure to be killed by the massive gang. There's no escape from this terror, you can only run for so long.
