This poem talks about the things that go on in a relationship. But it isn't a normal relationship it is one where when they are in public they are a "perfect couple" but they never hangout or call and one of the people in the relationship only wanted to date the other for show. But the other person in the relationship actually wants them to last. So this is from the perspective of the person who wanted the relationship. The poem is about a past relationship I had.

The past is supposed to stay in the past, it was never meant to come back and haunt me, but as time passed I started to realize that maybe I was the one haunting my past.
