A young girl named Pyra is determined to bring about change in a world dominated by fear and oppression. Burdened by the memory of her older brother, Will, who fell victim to the merciless tyrant Dusk, she carries the weight of the pain inflicted upon him. The brutal sight of her brother's torture, inflicted by Dusk's Ensnare power, remains etched in her mind. Forced to watch and even participate in his suffering, Pyra knows all too well the extent of Dusk's cruelty.

As Pyra wanders through her hometown of Lumina, the weight of despair heavy on her shoulders, she notices a small crowd nearby. Intrigued, she approaches cautiously, hoping for a glimmer of hope or information that could guide her on her quest for justice, and a hint of revenge. To her initial disappointment, the group turns out to be mere gossipers, exchanging rumors and tales. But just as she turns to leave, a fragment of conversation reaches her ears, hinting at a power hidden within the depths of the Echoing Abyss-a fabled labyrinth buried deep underground.

Suddenly, Pyra's world sparks with the possibility of change. With this newfound knowledge, however uncertain or mythical it may be, she embarks on a daring journey into the unknown.
