It was no secret how dangerous humans could be. Beneath the ocean depths, merfolk traded story after story of the horrors witnessed and experienced by those land dwellers. From anecdotes shared between old friends to cautionary tales told to the youth, there was no shortage of reasons to stay far away from the land those monsters called home.
Athena knew this just as well as everyone else. And she knows if the humans didn't kill her for this, her mother certainly would.
But, a little peek couldn't hurt, right?
