No matter how slow Ethereal was, once facts lay before her eyes, she knew instantly that it was all a conspiracy, a grand scheme that she had fallen into. How could this be? How had she not seen the signs? How...why did they have to do this to her?
All her life, she had sincerely obeyed and did everything they told her to do. She had never doubted them, never disobeyed, never said no! What did she get in return? Her thousand years of living was a lie, an illusion they casted to make her believe and trust them unconditionally.

"Get out of my way, Kan."

Panicked at her unusual calmness, Ishakan stood in his place in front of her. If he really let her leave, there was no doubt she would not return and that was something he couldn't afford.

"Baby, I'm sorry. I can do anything, anything to rectify everything. But please, don't leave," he swept his bangs away from his face as his eyes turned red from anxiety.

Ethereal let out a cold, heartless laugh. "You can do anything? Anything? Then kill me with your own hands, Ishakan. Kill me. End everything." Her calm voice turned into a yell and tears spilled on her cheeks. The sight of it made Ishakan nearly crumble in despair. In her thousand years of life, Ethereal had never shed tears but she did today, all because of him...all because of his selfishness. "I have lived like the puppet you all want me to for the past thousand years. I am tired, Ishakan. I don't want to do this anymore. So kill me and end this curse. Free me from this cocoon of bondage. For once, Ishakan, let me finally request something for myself."

That was all it took for the powerful high Creator, Ishakan, to break down in tears. A thousand years ago, he'd cried for this same woman, a thousand years later history was repeating itself

And if you're so sure that you didn't cheat on me, then fine, let's move on to the next step, prove me you didn't cheated on me" he said, and she frowned in confusion. He realized she didn't understand his intention. "Get intimate with me, tell me that you love me, and I'll believe you. I'll believe that you're telling the truth," he said, or more precisely, made an offer. She couldn't process his words. Her heart broke as she listened to him. •••• His expression darkened, pain flickering in his eyes. "Kya kami reh gayi thi, Amisha? Sab kuch diya tha tumhe... apna dil tumharee kadmon mein rakha tha. Fir bhi tumne yeh kiya?" His words came out in a choked whisper, his composure slipping. (Was there anything I didn't give you, Amisha? I gave you everything... I placed my heart at your feet. And still, you did this) Tears gathered in his eyes, though he struggled to maintain his demeanor, reminding himself he couldn't afford to be soft. "You're hurting me," she whispered, her voice cracking slightly. His eyes flickered with guilt, but he didn't let go. "And what about the hurt you caused me?I loved you, Amisha. I gave you everything. My heart, my soul... everything. And still, you didn't choose me." Tears welled up in her eyes. "You should have looked into my eyes once, it was always you Vivaan. But your jealousy... your obsession... it's destroying us."

"Stop following me! Just let me go and leave me in peace!" she pleaded, struggling against his unrelenting grip. "I won't. Not today, not ever. Not after finding you again," he said firmly. "I don't belong here. This isn't my place. Let me go," she begged, desperation in her voice. He shook his head. "You've always belonged. Since the beginning of time, we were meant to be together." "You'll never convince me," she snapped. "I won't be part of this farce or let you treat me like an object without a will of my own." "It's not a farce. It's as real as the sun, and you will be part of it-whether you want to or not. Your only desire should be our companionship," he declared. "Please," she whispered, one last plea as her hand inched toward her waistband. "The only thing left to do... do it for her, if not for love. " he ordered. "For love?" she murmured, shaken. Then her expression hardened. "But love was never an option," she spat, her voice dripping with disgust-before she struck with full force. It wasn't supposed to end like this. -- PROLOGUE "Let me get this straight. We have nothing in between us, except for the deal we made that day" he spoke in a monotonous tone. "I am the one carrying your name behind me; we are married. how can you say we have nothing in between us? Huh" She yelled at him, tears blurred her vision, and she spoke her heart to him. "For god's sake, this marriage was to save you! Can't you get that? I did not do it willingly, I do not love you!!" He yelled back at her, shattering her heart into pieces. "Why can't you just love me?" She spoke, as she cried the tears of hurt, and pain. Her heart thumped loudly due to the shivering sensation She felt all over her body. "I never made a commitment to you, or gave you any false hope, neither did i say that i love you. Did i?" He asked her, in a very cold tone. She looked at him through her teary eyes. It's getting difficult for her to even breathe. "It was your eyes, the damn eyes. Who gave me the false hope. They say, "Eyes speak the truth," but what about mine? Couldn't you feel the sincerity within them, expressing my deep affection for you? Why didn't you see the love shining in them? Was it too complex to understand? Couldn't you notice the warmth as they gazed at you? They search for you in every corner, If only you realized how they silently echoed the emotions I couldn't articulate. They say, "Eyes never deceive." But what about yours? They played a trick on me when they met mine, painting a facade of a world that wasn't real. They made me feel loved, Leading me into a belief that crumbled, louder than your spoken promises. Why did they betray me? Was it your eyes or you that masked the truth?" He stayed still, not moving or saying anything at her statement. --

"Why? When he holds your hand you don't tell him to back off, Huh?" Tightening his grip on her, Murad seethed. The pain which he was causing her was intolerable, tears fell down from those hazel orbs on her pale cheeks as she wished for a certain pair of sea blue eyes to come and save her from this tormentor. "He is my husband! He has every right on me as I have on him." Hazaan yelled at him as anger started welling up in her body, slowly replacing the fear. "Oh, Accha. Now, he is your husband then who am I to you? Did you forget what we had.." the words got strangled in his throat and a loud noise took place in the room making a pin drop silence which shocked the daylights of Murad as he never expected the timid, extrovert and bubbly girl to strike him hard, across the face. "You were a mistake and you'll always be one! I was so blind in your trap which you called 'love' to not see a cold blooded brute." Hazaan gritted out the words not knowing what the outcome of her honesty would cost her. Fury and rage was all he felt towards her. He jerked off his grip on her and pushed Hazaan to the wall harshly, making her yelp as her head started throbbing in pain. Murad wrapped his fingers on her throat and pressed his fingers more firmly which caused her to squirm in his hold for the oxygen. His next words were not for which Hazaan was prepared for. "You are mine Hazaan! YOU.ARE.MINE. If I can't have you then no one can..." were the last words heard by her before everything went black.

"No..." she breathed out trembling at the circumstance that had hovered on her at the most unfortunate time or maybe as a blessing in disguise. With utmost certainty in her voice she weaved her thoughts into words, "This can't happen. You can't comeback. How is this possible??" "What is not possible, ma'am?" He asked bringing the trembling lady out of her reverie. "You.." she pointed her shaky finger at him, "You are Vansh?" "Who Vansh?" He asked, astonished at the new address, "I am Vihaan" "Vi-Vihaan?" she asked again. "Yes, Vihaan" he replied making a lone tear escape out of her beautifully carved doe-shaped eyes. "No... Vansh...." she again took the same name making the man called Vihaan furrow his eyebrows deep. ".....same face... exactly the same..." she continued mumbling when Vihaan knocked her head lightly. "Ma'am!" he called out bending to her level, "....Did you see your worst nightmare?" he asked with a resembling sharp glint in his eyes making the scared heart squeak more.
