Living in a world where the supernatural lives among the natural, things are strange in Roanoke, Virginia where humans and shapeshifters live together in a strict segregated environment. Lines in between streets to mark which side each species lives on, a normal life for all of the residence of the medium-sized city. Until a murder happens.
The first suspect is that it was a shapeshifter's doing, considering the victim, but when the murders spread to shapeshifters as well, something is targeting to eliminate both sides of the coin and it's spreading like a disease.
It becomes clear that it's up to outcast Nikolai and fashion lover Imani to do something, proving that the supernatural can live amongst the natural, all while romance blossoms between the two despite how much of an opposite they are. But they are running out of a time and there are so many secrets of the city's past to discover...can they find the killer while finding themselves?
