The Way It Is
I am not from this planet. Hell, I am technically not from this galaxy. However, that doesn't change the fact I am here now, and my job is to save what I can on this forsaken planet and what's left of its inhabitants. The problem is that not everyone wants to be saved. I know what you're thinking. You can't save those who don't want to be saved. I bloody well agree. The ones who sent me don't care what you or I think, though. All they care about is numbers. They need a certain success rate to continue to get funding for their "expeditions" and "peacekeeping" efforts. I use both terms loosely here. However, that's what they put on their records, and it's what sounds good and looks suitable to their investors. So this is the way it's going to be. So be it! Oh, did I forget to mention the Universe decided I was the lucky girl to help find the one person who could save us all from self-destruction? Barry's life
Two people fall in love in unlikely circumstances. They have a lot of psychological issues and mistrusts in the order of things to prevent them from finding themselves and each other. I am a reader of crime novels and hard science fiction almost exclusively, and yet this story, which I have been writing for a long time, is a love story, I can't explain it even to myself. The characters will have to work through hardship and evolve to be able to surrender to the magical things around them and the flow of the universe and the love of other people. This story still is a work in progress, it has holes and it is to be continued

Not Your Ordinary Alien Story
Aliens have been here before... one was left behind. Eighteen-year- old Zoe must find him and she doesn't have much time. Along with the alien, a beacon was left on Earth which when activated, opens a portal through which the aliens will return. The extraterrestrials visit Earth to usurp Qi, Earth's vital energy. If the extraterrestrials go too long without Qi, people on the alien planet will die. However, when Qi is extracted from Earth, the weak and elderly of Earth will die. The beacon can only be activated by the alien who was left here and only when the planets are in a particular alignment. The next time is only two months away during the Autumnal Equinox.
