This is a Rift Warden Stellan x Reader fanfiction story that takes place during Chapter 4, Season 1. Here's a summary:

The Island, now reforged by the fragments of different realities, has recently introduced a new faction. The empire known by many as the Oathbound, ruled by the Ageless Champion. Residing in The Citadel, the Champion tasks the head alchemist of the Oathbound to build his most desired wish, the Rift Gate. A gateway to all realities.

The alchemist, loyal as he is, agrees to build the Rift Gate. Though, not just because of the Champion's reason. He has his own reason to build the gateway, and is soon left desperate to finish it. Time was not on his side.

Throughout his desperation, he hires Y/N to help him finish the Rift Gate and fulfill his task. However, even through his desperation, he can't help but share his thoughts and secrets to them, even if he's never told anyone about them. As time passes, and the Rift Gate grows closer to completion, so does his bond with Y/N. But can this newly formed and growing bond keep the alchemist, Stellan, mentally in-check before his terrorizing thoughts and dreams can't be handled anymore?
