Axel is just a shy gay 14 year old boy with an ignorant, previously abusive, homophobic single mom. He has a huge crush on Xavien, his 2-year best friend, who is 16. He never told anyone about his sexuality. One day in May, a new girl named Sakira comes to Axel and Xavien's school, where she starts flirting with Xavien. However, Axel and Xavien soon walk in on Sakira making out with Luna wearing barely anything, where they find out Sakira is lesbian and only flirted with Xavien because of a bet.
Secretly, Xavien also liked Axel. When Xavien finds Axel's diary, he finds out about his past and how much he liked him. Axel later finds out that his own mom is lesbian, and was forced to marry his dad. She had only pretended to be homophobic all these years because she was afraid Axel would be disgusted.
On the last day of spring break, Xavien goes over to Axel's house for a sleepover. Xavien told Axel about finding his diary, and at first Axel thought he was going to stop their friendship (ok fine, they fucked).
Axel and Xavien eventually got together, got married, and had 4 kids.

Sean Owens: a stoic, popular jock that's mostly known for his sporty lifestyle and his good looks at his school. No one -not even his closest friends- know he's gay, but he's never tried to hide it, just never tried to show it either. The one person that he thought he would tell about his sexuality was the same person that made him realize it, but that person stopped talking to him soon after he moved.
