One day, Madira got a call from her mom that her dad had up and left the family. Leaving nothing behind but a note saying he, "Couldn't do it anymore", no one knew what really happened. On winter break from college, her mom had the idea that the family should go on a 'getaway' to a winter cottage her parents had bought over the summer. Her best friend, Victor, winds up joining the family and things are a little bumping starting out.
Only the second day into the trip and Madira already finds herself in trouble. Victor immediately comes after her. But in doing so, secrets are not only brought to the surface, but yanked from the sea of confusion as everyone tries to make senses of what is actually happening.

Where did Madira's dad go? What trouble is Madira in and what does Victor have to do with it all? Join Madira on her journey as she answers these questions and more, like who is Victor to her after a year of not seeing or speaking to him?

Obsession is the height of passion, but what does one do when they find themselves enthralled with their enemy. Talamayas Sol loses his mother when he stumbles upon a mage in the deserts of his territory, and he is plunged into a despair he's never known. Stricken with grief, he imprisons the murderer and wipes out every last mage of the Song-a human supremacist mage family that had murdered his kind for nothing more than the joy of their extinction. Through his pain, Talamayas finds himself leaning on the man in his dungeons, be it only to torture him for the relief it grants. It was anger at first, but as he learns more about the circumstances of his mother's death and the terrors that fill Wren Song's nightmares, he is inescapably tethered to the man in his dungeons. Why can't he just kill Wren Song and move on with his life? What keeps him close to the mage and anxious when he leaves his side? Is there more to it than obsession and a need to crush the enemy of his past? If there is, what does that mean for him and his people? Take a step back to the start and follow Talamayas Sol and Wren song through their struggle in the deserts of the east. Learn just where their animosity began and how working together changes and shapes the hearts and minds of men grown in a time when violence was the only way forward. Raised on the upper east side of Manhattan, Audrina Rose wanted for nothing. Her striking mother had married for money, and she had all of her mother's looks and her father's intelligence. As she rose in popularity and intellectual rank among her peers at prep school, she appeared to have the world at her fingertips. But Audrina, having been torn from every nursemaid and nanny she had ever had, struggled to connect with the other girls, and buried her head in romance novels, and felt herself superior to her petty peers. Audrina had one friend, Georgie, whose heart she had only because Georgie was the kind of girl who couldn't bear to see another girl eat lunch alone. When Georgie invited Audrina to spend her summer in Iowa, Audrina enters into life with a family who had just experienced a recent tragedy. Under the command of the oldest brother, John, the family runs rather smoothly. But Audrina cannot seem to understand or comply with John's authoritative, commanding presence in the household, and she balks at it. Aside from John, Audrina believes her life with the Museman family is as it should be. It is what she has always longed for, but never knew she was missing. When the end of the summer comes, and she is torn from them, she is unsure how to cope with the life she once knew so well. She feels empty and alone apart from them. Even more confusing, are the thoughts and feelings surging within her. She sets her mind to move on with her life, to never return to the place where her heart would only be broken. But she is drawn back to Iowa as if it was her own, and when she finally sets her mind to ask for the one things she wants more than all, powers beyond her control set the world in a panic, and changed the course of her life forever.

With the rise of government and regulation, Magic Laws have been placed in effect to appease the people of the world. Every mage must have a license to use their magic outside of their homes but there are those who follow the dangerous path instead. Follow our resident mage (a magical person) Claire Dunsworth who becomes a NYC Mage Detective and her new partner the rugged Detective Raven Black as they investigate crimes of a magical nature. Claire is a mage with exceptional magical talent if not too exceptional for the higher ups within the Guild that monitors all mages of the world. She is an orphan and grew up in a Home for Magical Children on Mage Island, floating in the middle of the Pacific. Under constant watch and scrutiny from the Guild, Claire now finds herself working side by side with a Black, the very family that was breed to become mage assassins, killing thousands of her people. The fact that the Black is also a handsome man does not help Claire's case at all. Raven has nothing to do with his family and yet is hostile to Claire upon finding out she's a mage. He worked as a detective to make sure everyone had equal justice but when he got his new partner Claire his world is thrown upside down. Not only is she a mage whom he silently despises but she's also the most beautiful woman he's ever laid eyes on. As they work together and find a rocky truce between themselves they travel the city solving crimes with a magical association. Raven accepts Claire without cause while Claire lays her life down for the man who stole her heart. As they fall for one another a dark figure lerks in the shadows, plotting something sinister for our mage Claire. Could this dark figure perhaps have something to do with Claire's unclear past? Can Raven, a Black, somehow save this woman before she's taken from him forever?
