The sound of silence is a mournful requiem, a deafening lament as it plays for the extinction of an entire species.

The Feylin species is near extinction. Not by an enemy, nor rebel, or God, but by a simple accident in one of the solar mining stations in their home system. After decades of brutal war, nobody has won, everyone has died.

That is, except for those stationed within the Ignodomus Research Facility, one of the only facilities in the galaxy designed to withstand such an attack. With their deaths prolonged, the remaining staff and their families struggle for survival or for a way to conquer this challenge. At their head is the defeated and newly appointed Grand Overseer, Tushan, and his sickly daughter, Melodia, who is soon to die of a disease plaguing her since birth.

The evolution of a species is paramount, but will they be able to survive until then?

Whisper of Sands by tamimiqbal10

In the heart of a harsh desert lies an oasis protected by the Jakari and Sandwalkers, two tribes divided by tradition. When a hidden city awakens, threatening to unleash its destructive power, Amira, a Jakari warrior, and Liara, a Sandwalker scholar, must forge an unlikely alliance. Their perilous journey into the city's ruins reveals a forgotten past and the key to controlling the power source. By deciphering ancient rituals and learning to communicate with the desert's energy, they establish a fragile peace. Years later, new whispers emerge from the forgotten canyons, hinting at another slumbering force. Amira and Liara lead a new expedition, encountering a colossal creature, a protector of a dormant power source disrupted by their ancestors. Through understanding and diplomacy, they restore the balance and solidify their role as guardians of the desert. Generations pass, and the once-small oasis blossoms into a thriving city-state, Whisperwind. The current Keeper of Whispers, Elara, grapples with a new challenge - whispers emanating from a vast, unknown desert beyond their borders. These whispers, unlike the familiar warmth of the desert, are cold and metallic, a desperate plea from a dying civilization. Through tireless research and a newfound understanding of the whispers, they discover a way to offer aid, bridging the energy signature of the dying civilization with their own spring. The whispers fade, replaced by a comforting silence. Whisperwind stands as a testament to the power of communication and the delicate balance between humanity and the unknown. The Jakari and Sandwalkers, now united as the Keepers of Whispers, face a future where they are not just protectors of their own desert, but guardians of a universe teeming with the potential for both destruction and understanding.

[SPINOFF/SEQUEL TO CURSEBREAKER AND FIREHEART] As the heir to the crown of Terrasen, Estelle Whitethorn Galathynius has always felt more responsibility towards her duties than her other siblings. She's the one to follow the rules, to stay in the lines, to keep her people's faith and her parent's trust. She'd never do anything to jeopardize what she has. Nyx, on the other hand, has no such qualms. While he may be next in line as High Lord of the Night Court, he isn't much for the life of a leader. Nyx dreams of adventures like the ones from stories, the stories of his people and his parents. He doesn't want to fit into a frame, but he doesn't know how to change the life he was born into. A daughter of Terrasen and a son of the Night Court have met once before. The tale is practically legend. But that story ended a long time ago, and the doorways between worlds have since been shut. Or so everyone thought. One day, Nyx stumbles upon an open door, and he's pulled into a world he's only heard whispers about. To get Nyx home, the son of Night and the Princess of Terrasen must work together to find a way re-open the doorways between worlds, and do it fast... before either of them finds a reason for Nyx to stay. (This is set after the events of ACOSF, and Kingdom of Ash! It's also set after the events of my own fanfiction series, Cursebreaker and Fireheart!! I'd recommend reading these beforehand, as there will be spoilers!!) Cover art by Merwild, edited by me! Our Reluctant Caretaker by Kay_Gilbert
1 part Complete
"We don't have a Caretaker. We have a Creationeer. And we love her." ~Humanity. We think we're from here, but are we really? What happened to us before then, and who was involved? Kit - a young B-Tier Creationeer - didn't want this job. She's not trained to be an Intelligent Species Caretaker, and yet she's forced to care for the last remnants of a damaged and traumatized humanity by an old, malicious evil. After carrying us around in a modified to-go habitat bubble for 18K years, Kit wants a vacation, but is hesitant to leave us alone on our new planet she built; Earth. She confides in Pan - an A-Tier Caretaker and Kit's best friend and roommate. She reveals the full story of how she came to be in possession of us and why she can't hand us over to a licensed Caretaker. Pan reveals the tragic truth of the first 10 years of our existence before Kit found us. The new knowledge Ignites a fire in both. So the two young Ethereals come up with another plan that involves the three grad school roommates, Pan, Sid, and Kit, taking us on a long road trip to the Andromeda galaxy for some good old fashioned revenge- justice. And also Screw Jim. (warning: Contains strong language.) Please comment and vote. :) I'd really appreciate it. ^_^ (This idea was born from the second I saw a photo of Earth from orbit showing the glow of our atmosphere and thought, "Haha! We live on a bubble planet." :) ) NOTE: They're not gods. This is not theology. They don't have all the answers, they're not all powerful, and they can't do everything. They're closest equivalent in a fandom would be like lesser cousins to the Q. In this AU, Humanity knows about Kit. They don't deify her. To them, Kit's presence is normal, tangible, and real. She's always been there.
