Narrative in Monosyllables

Louis felt guilty about admitting that she hated her life. She works like a dog at the match factory only to come home to nothing. No food and no bed. She never has a minute to even think about herself. She recalls that her mum had always worked hard too, but her mum had told her that it was only temporary. Her mum had promised her that she would eventually create a life where Louis would have it easy. She would be married to a wealthy man and she would be the perfect housewife. Except that Louis would never be the perfect housewife. She would never be the perfect anything. Because at 16, Louis ran away from home with her best friend, and she never looked back. Harry was two years younger than her. She was tall, beautiful, and an excellent cook. She was everything that Louis would never be. And Louis loved her for it. So, when Harry showed up at her doorstep sobbing because her parents were dead and her sister was missing, Louis didn't waste a second. It was a matter of weeks before the girls found themselves in this rundown boarding room working crazy hours trying to please their tyrant boss, Simon Cowell.
