Rabbits and Moons is a novel about self-discovery. The main protagonist, Eleanor, neglected to complete her language requirement during her college years. Time passes by, and at the age of thirty, she develops a desire to obtain her diploma as a means to gain more choices in life. Eleanor travels to Mexico to learn to speak Spanish. She believes this will do the trick. A drifter and adventurist, she finds herself living in an orphanage on the banks of a river in Guatemala. She falls in love. It is a complicated love and leaves her perplexed and questioning her inner soul. As it goes, life has given her plenty of freedom and very few anchors-a curse or a blessing? Rabbits and Moons is a smartly written book filled with well-developed characters and a plot full of surprises.
