On Bouvet Island, 7 British researchers are sent to a research base, with the purpose of fostering a prominent-enough discovery to make their mission a success. They think they find the key to this when they find an alien ship buried in the Bouvetian mountains. However, what they find makes their mission not one of research - but one of survival.

This is a fanfic loosely based on John Carpenter's 1982 film 'The Thing'. Despite how it may be written, it is just a little novella I made for my friends to enjoy and shouldn't be taken very seriously ;)

It was written with various Wattpad stereotypes heavily in mind (hence, orbs), and inside jokes between myself and my friends.

Captain J. F. Blake of the US Special Forces has been through a hell almost no one else on the planet has experienced. After a lengthy campaign against the Thing and the insane Colonel Whitley, he is the last man standing. Or so he thought. After the final showdown with Whitley, Blake meets fellow veteran of the Thing R. J. MacReady, sole survivor of Outpost Thirty One. Together, these two men must lead a ragtag band of battered, exhausted survivors against Genetic Incorporated and their army of mercenaries for control of the seventh continent. Blake isn't sure he has what it takes, but at this point, he's willing to die trying. He must battle the elements, mercenaries, and the living virus known only as the Thing if he's to keep the infection from spreading to the rest of the planet. It's time to put a stop to this once and for all...
