Rivalry. The one word that was the causation of what drew them apart, but could it also be what drives them together?

Abigail Turner and Nicolas Grayson, are childhood rivals who could possibly turn into something more. Having shared a bond that was formed through their shared competitiveness. From the time they were in 3rd grade, they engaged in a continuous game of one-uping each other. They were constantly seeking to prove their superiority over the other, even if it meant resorting to silly and immature tactics.

One of Nicolas' ideas was the tally marking system, a symbolic representation of shame for the one who wore it, serving as a visual reminder of how many times they had been defeated. It became a tangible way for them to keep track of their victories and losses, fueling their competitive fire and driving them to outdo each other.

However, underneath their playful rivalry, there was always a flicker of something deeper. Their constant push-and-pull, the intense desire to outshine each other, masked a hidden connection that went beyond mere competition. Could this be what finally pushes them together to be something more?
