In the land of Mordor, where the shadows lie... It was here, on the slopes of Mount Doom, that the Dark Lord Sauron was defeated by a last alliance of Men and Elves... It is here that for two an a half thousand years the Rangers of Gondor have stood watch, guarding against a nameless threat they had all but forgotten. And while the strength of Gondor faded, the power and malice of Sauron grew in darkness. He has returned to Mordor. Shadow and Flame have fallen on the Black Gate, and no mortal man can stand in its path.

Talion, a Captain of the Black Gate, is dead. Murdered along with his wife and son in a blood ritual performed by servants of the Dark Lord. Bound in undeath to a nameless Wraith who knows nothing of his own past, Talion seeks to cripple the evil hierarchy of Mordor, find out who the Wraith truly is, and destroy the Black Captains. For Talion, vengeance is not a choice. Sauron must be stopped, and only one Man has the power and will to do so.

Delve deep into the Land of Shadow in this novel adaptation of the critically acclaimed game! Witness the blood and blades of Uruk-Hai, Beasts, and Men as Talion carves a foothold in Mordor.

This is a story based on a Garten Of BanBan au called "Fallen Gods". This story and universe entails depictions of death, torture, horror and cult like themes. Each chapter will have trigger/ content warnings so please make sure to read those before continuing. This story will be a rewrite of the events of the games as they would occur in this timeline. Each chapter will be based on a different game, of course starting at game one. Some characters may have a bigger or smaller role in this story. Some events may also not occur in this story, additionally new events entirely may be added. That being said this story is about you, the player/ [YN] returning to a place they managed to escape many years prior. Throughout your venture you'll find yourself taking on side quests. You may not fully know the pains the mascots have endured but you were hurt by the exact same man that tortured them for years. Do We Let Them Stand Alone? by JenikaFoust
40 parts Ongoing Mature
Galadriel has seen more war in five years than most would experience in a lifetime. She and her brother, Finrod, commanded the Great War's most elite death squad: the Loriens. Together they completed untold thousands of missions, destroying some of the Enemy's most valuable strongholds and weapons. In the last crucial battle of the War, Finrod was killed by Sauron, an Enemy lieutenant of reputed cruelty on and off the battlefield. Morgoth was killed in the same battle, and the Loriens were sent home. Galadriel and her commandos were expected to re-assimilate with the civilian population. Galadriel has struggled to adapt for months; but with her brother gone and so many of the Enemy soldiers, including Sauron, at large, how can she put down the weapons that have kept her safe for so long? Halbrand finally makes his way north to take refuge in the great city of Lindon, where a chance encounter with a half-elf lord puts him directly into the path of Galadriel. He's done fighting. It's time to atone for his misdeeds. If his identity is exposed, can he make the person who matters most to him understand? The two journey to the Southlands, where an orc father is pursuing a secret of his own. What is Adar hunting? That's a lot of very dramatic questions for a single description. All that cinematic fluff aside, I hope you'll take a look at my original fiction piece, as it has cost me many brain cells and many hours of sleep. #2 in haladriel trying to get in the top 100 of the lordoftherings tag but I keep topping out really close to 100...one day...

Rise of Fire: Dragons Reborn [COMPLETED] by RosaleeRain
49 parts Complete Mature
The world had long since forgotten the age of dragons, those creatures that had once ruled the skies as gods had long since disappeared after the conclusion of the Great Demon Wars. Dragons became nothing more than a fading legend, a story to tell children at bedtime. But the gods could not let the dragons die, for they were the last defense against the demon armies and the dark god Vekkar. Talia had been born and raised in a world of darkness acting as an agent of Hephatus, goddess of assassins and death. She knew only a life of killing, sometimes for justice, sometimes for honor, always for money. Her morals were opaque at best. But when she's deployed to the city of Arboros she finds herself thrust into a world of political games, opposing powers, and constant threat. Nowhere was safe even for her. Her goals became muddied, and then lost altogether when she meets the Dwarven Prince. Bromyr had spent the last five years of his life chasing ghosts, desperate to find the lost dragon eggs. His people thought him crazy, his father stripped him of his titles, but he never gave up. Eventually his effort bore fruit and he hastily made way to return to his homeland only to get caught up in the city of Arboros. It was there that he met an intriguing half-giant, a woman who ignited a fire everywhere she went. In the end she was the one who inadvertently brought about the new age of dragons. What could go wrong when an ill tempered assassin becomes the first dragon rider of a new age? ***Cover made by annie1loves1you***

"Now I lay me down to sleep I pray the lords my soul to keep See me safely through the night And wake me with the morning light" ...and though that morning light is but a ghost on the Eastern horizon, it is one onto which we cling. In this dark age of begotten Ringwraiths, rogue orcs, and Sauron's rise, it is a hope that we will live to see another day. But as direction goes, it is not so much a morning light, nor an Eastern one, but that of infinitesimal flames roving across the lands yet funneling in the Northeast. These are the flames of Phoenicians, cause of Sauron's original downfall and back for our final battle. This is a story of a return to light within the very heart of Gondor's son. The tragic death to counter Durin's, only withheld by a tear of heavenly descent. And though his ways are ones of great fault, he is yet to be the most deserving of all humanity...a true light in the darkness. Let us then begin the tale of dwarves and men.
