Natalia Taylors grew up a Pogue. She lived on the cut, she was raised by salt lifers who made surfboards and owned a surf shop. She'd been friends with JJ Maybank since Kindergarten. A Pogue through and through. Until her dad died, her mother married rich, and uprooted her life only to be forced back into the soil of Figure 8 with a brand new Step-Ftaher, and three new siblings. A new school, new family, new friends, new life.
Now she's 16, adjusted to her Kook life, as unpleasant as she finds it, and is finally starting to get over everything that happened. Until, for some reason unbeknownst to her, she lets JJ Maybank back into her life.
One night, smoking a joint on the beach with her childhood best friend would inevitably change her life, but she doesn't know that yet.
