A group of unlikely companions brought together with promises of gold, glory and gore set off on an adventure that'll either break them or make them. With ever changing dynamics, the group have to get to know each other and work together in order to save the day, or die trying.

A RANGER IS BORN
First off, this story was not written by me. I am posting it for a friend of mine, with permission of course. This took place in a Dungeons & Dragons game over 30 years ago. It is a about how one of the player characters got his start; Crentar Bronn. He is a human ranger of 1st level in this story. This is important to note, because it'll bring more perspective as you read the story. I was the DM (Dungeon Master) for this game. At the time, we were still in high school, which of course, gives away our age. lol I decided to have each character do it solo before they actually met up with each other. A teaser so-to-speak. Eventually, there was five player characters in the game. My friend who ran Crentar Bronn remembers this whole solo adventure to this very day in great detail. A few years after the game is when he wrote this story. We were recently reminiscing about 'old times' and he told me that he actually wrote it out as a story. He was then able to find it on an old hard drive & then sent it to me. I was very surprised at how good this is & how great his memory was from that adventure. I'm flattered that he was so inspired by it, that he turned it into a story! I hope you enjoy this early adventure of Crentar Bronn as much as we did. Perhaps, with enough comments & likes, he'll be inspired to write more chapters. THX

Thorin Oakenshield has a guardian angel of sorts, only he doesn't know it. Yet. After breaking up a fight between Thorin and another man, Seren Gilwynn vowed to watch over the dwarf prince for the rest of her days. She never thought both Dale and Erebor were on the threshold of being destroyed by Smaug the dragon, with dwarves and men scattered about Middle Earth. Bounced from place to place, Seren has learned everything she could about weapons and fighting, with her promise to keep watch always in the back of her mind. And when she finally tracks Thorin down, she fully intends to keep that promise. Thorin, however, has different plans. He is on his way to the town of Bree, in search of his own father, Thráin, who has been missing for years. When you get to the action parts (which doesn't take long) you should be invested enough to want to unravel the mysteries and enjoy its intrigue... The flood is raging. A terrifying, heartless mountain of water, swallowing the world . The tunnel networks? Of course, that won't save them. The forests? Like leaves in a breeze. The lookout towers and trade hubs? Gone. Their bonds was inseparable, almost mythical. Ira Stormbreaker grew up in the North becoming a Tamer like her ancestors before. Alastor is her Dragon, young and full of life. Then everything changed with Smaug attacked. He destroyed the North and claimed Erebor for his own. Except Ira and Alastor survived the brutal onslaught. Now 60 years has passed since that day. Now Ira is cold and bitter towards most. She's reclusive and mysterious. When Gandalf asks her to join a company of 13 Dwarves and 1 Hobbit, she goes but only to seek revenge on the beast. This is for others to give me feedback so far. When the final product is done I am going to keep this one up for people to see how different the first draft is from the final product. Ryan's life has been chaotic and he knew that there was nothing he could do except just live life. Everything changed when the Wildfire nation destroyed his home and he came across a temple hidden in a forest with an egg and a prophecy.
