Whispering was heard. Barely audible but still echoing in the newly made Apprentices ears.
'I didn't die for myself I died for her.'
Solemnpaw didn't know who was whispering that, but judging by what happened with Nightember earlier, she for some reason had a good guess as to who it was.
Nightember talked to her earlier about how Oakglide died trying to save Rosyblossom. But why would she risk her own life trying to die for someone they were at war with?
A final word echoed in her mind.

Even though the story itself isn't completed, I've lost the interest to keep writing 'The Bare Leaves'. I may in the future, but as of right now, it is completed. <33 With tension from the approaching leafbare, a blood-thirsty badger, and from their rivals of WindClan, RiverClan apprentice Breezepaw and her friends try their best to help their suffering clan, trying to do more healing than harm, but what can a few apprentices do in a cold and changing world? "The breeze carried with it the sorrowful past, the changing present, and the ominous future into the sleeping camp, bringing a warning to the clan cats. Although StarClan is powerful, they cannot control everything, or no cat would truly be free. They can only bring warning to the living, but they cannot change the past, nor can they make every wish come true. With the death of the beetle, and the sway of the breeze, the flight of the finch across the vast and curvy river, and the anonymous newt, StarClan sends a warning to the cats of a future leafbare they will never forget." ! Horsekit has a great reputation. Her mother, Cinderstripe, saved the clan from the Twolegs. You'd be respected too, right? Until she became mute and disfigured. An accident involving a fox, kills her brother, and permanently injures her. Stormstar, the leader, doesn't think that she could become a warrior, what she wanted to be when she was old enough. So he appoints her as the medicine cat apprentice AND a warrior apprentice. He says she has to train in both positions. And she has three moons to train in both, and pass both assessments to chose what she wants to be. If she fails one, Stormstar chooses what her future holds. But training in both ranks isn't easy. It takes a toll on the body, mind, and emotions. So Horsepaw looses friends, gains friends, makes sacrifices, and finds out shocking secrets.
