It was a lovely morning in the Sinnoh region. A flock of Starly were flying over Twinleaf Town while a group of Shinx were playing on some rocks. People had already gone for work or, in the case of Y/N, were still fast asleep.
???: Y/N? Are you still asleep? It's your birthday and you should be celebrating it! Come on Y/N wake up please! Y/N!
Y/N: Ah! Calm down Barry! You scared the living Arceus out of me! Wait how did you even get in? I swear I locked the door!
Barry: Oh I just jumped through your window!
Y/N: What!?
Barry: Anyways I have gifted you with my presence for 2 things! One: Happy birthday Y/N! I got your gift here! And two: Professor Roman just came back from the Kanto Region! I saw it on the news today! Do you know what that means?
Y/N: ...What?
Barry: WE CAN BECOME POKÉMON TRAINERS!
Y/N: Wait really?
Barry: Obviously! Now come on Y/N! We need to head to Sandgem Town pronto before a queue builds up! I'm so excited!

2022: This needs to be rewritten, and I am currently rewriting it on my AO3. Check my profile for a link to my AO3 profile, under Mel_the_Pirate! It's almost complete, though I had to take a break due to the Fall 2022 semester starting up. 2015: Crystal has gone through the four regions of Kanto, Sinnoh, Johto, and Unova, collecting Pokémon, defeating rivals, and gaining badges, like any other Pokémon trainer. Right after she gained her eighth Gym badge in Unova, she had an urge to visit her home region of Kanto and her friends who live there. After visiting with her family and friends in Pallet Town, she headed to Cerulean Cape to visit Bill, who started up Crystal's PC Pokémon storage system. Bill was in the middle of an experiment and Crystal offers to help, which brings her the ability of a Ditto: the ability to change into any Pokémon. That is, with practice. A 10-year-old boy, with a goal to become a Pokemon Champion, sets out on a journey across the Kanto Region. A journey charged with friendships, fun, and battles. Team Rocket, a criminal organization with disastrous plans is hiding mind-blowing secrets. Buckle up, cause it's going to be one hell of an adventure! Frequently Asked Questions: Q - What's special about this fanfiction? A - The books have an architectured story, from mysteries to time travel. From being awfully childish to brutally mature. Also, the protagonist ages. Q - Who are the Main Protagonists and the rivals? A - Red, a character from the Pokemon Video Games is the main protagonist along with his best friend Leaf. Whereas the character Blue (also known as Gary in the anime) is more of a frenemy than a rival. The main rivals would be Team Rocket Grunts - Cassidy and Butch as well as their Boss, Giovanni. Q - Is this story based on Pokemon Red or FireRed? A - The story has a few iconic moments from the games/manga but those events do not play a big part in the main story arc. Q - Is Ash Ketchum in it? A - The story takes place in its own universe. I try to bring some events from the games, the manga, and the anime. You get to see a different version of Ash Ketchum (close to how he has been depicted in the anime) in 2 chapters of this book. Q - Is Team Rocket the same as in the anime? A - While Cassidy and Butch are characters from the anime, they have a different overall character arc than in the anime. Team Rocket is darker than in any previous versions and has a purpose and a plan other than stealing. Giovanni's plan plays out slowly in the course of three books. Q - It has time travel? A - It does, time travel is hinted at in the first book with the actual "time traveling" in the second book. Q - "I hope the protagonist has a father, hahaha" A - Yes, he does. The character mostly appears in flashbacks but is an important character.Complete

Our Promise, Our Future
After winning the Kalos League and keeping their promise, Ash and Serena continue their journey together. From new regions, to new Pokemon, to new battles and new experiences. Whatever lies ahead, they don't know, but they will face it together. This is a sequel to my Our Promise one-shot (which you can read if you'd like for some extra exposition but it's not required). I kept looking over it and I saw more potential in it, but instead of going back to that story, I decided to keep it a one-shot and make the sequel a multi-chapter story. I don't know how many chapters I'll write, but I'll try to make it long enough to be considered a good read. I do know that I don't have an uploading schedule, so new chapters will most likely appear at random. I hope you'll all enjoy my first attempt at a multi-chapter Pokemon story. Fair warning though.
