In a world of assassins, there is a city divided into two circles. The Low Circle, known more commonly as Silicen, is the home of the Assassins' Guild, a powerful underworld organization that holds influence over both circles from the shadows. The High Circle, or Hana, is the home of opulent architecture and expensive knives used to stab others in the back.

When the Guild forms a team of the elite for an assassination of a powerful Hana politician, the tenuous relationship between the two circles is threatened.

A child prodigy who has only ever been told that he is a weapon. A former high-ranking assassin who managed to escape once but came back for reasons unknown. A poisons expert who will do anything to protect his siblings. A technological genius who keeps his cards to his chest under a veil of sarcasm and humor. A femme fatale who wants nothing more than to reunite with her sister. An exiled Hana assassin who wants nothing to do with the Guild, but still takes their orders.

A group of six killers try to navigate politics, friendship, and betrayal-- with quite a few murders along the way.

"Life is a game of chess. You are the player and everything you could make use of is in your hands. Kill, manipulate and adapt. There are blunders, mistakes as well as opportunities on the board waiting to be made." An assassin's life is pretty simple. Once you get a job, just follow the orders and end a miscreant's life. That's it. That's how Gaela lived her whole life, following orders of the higher ups and ending lives with her close group of acquaintances. She have no family, no emotions let alone will to live, always ready to die in a mission. One day, she receives an important mission that her close group of acquaintances cannot interfere with; protect David Moon, a young aspiring chess player who attends St. Peter's, a prestigious secondary school with the title as the Quintessential Chessman. How could an assassin who specialises with marksmanship protect someone who is targeted by many without realising without the help of her acquaintances? How would someone like Gaela adapt to a normal school life in order to protect David? What are the chances of Gaela meeting famous enquiry agents that can put her life in danger as well as famous serial killers and thieves in her fabricated school life? Pretty low right..? Right?? Watch as Gaela trudges through her mission to protect David Moon, doing side missions, making friends and learning what 'emotions' truly means on the way. •Prequel to 'Valerie's Interest'•

Guns, revenge and buildings to bomb, what could go wrong? ✮ He came in, gun held out in front of him in one hand while the other was resting on his hip where a sharp dagger gleamed in the light. "Come on out little girl, why not make this easier for both of us. The agency you ran away from just want to have a little talk, that's all." She scoffed internally. Yeah right. Then the footsteps ceased. She peeked to the right, then to the left. Neither direction showed any sign of the intruder. She looked up in front of her and gasped, the glint of steel and smell of death as overwhelming as it was adrenaline inducing, exciting. "Boo." ✮ Murder, accidents, assassinations. Call it what you will, it's all the same, all has the same life breaking, mind shattering consequences - be it for the victim or the bystander. It had shaped Alex in a way no one should be. Broken down and rebuilt into the perfect soldier, one who had the power to change the world, to fight battles that would either make or break the carefully constructed vision we all live in. The only small, minute, really unimportant detail - it's pretty hard to get into a government classified site when you're 15 years old and have a rag-tag team of double-crossing back-stabbers behind you. Not to mention the threat of a world war and ghost hanging above your head. Armed with sarcasm, wit, and a hell of a lot of aggressive intentions, it won't be too long till a sticky situation is all that's ahead of you. Sometimes, running head-first into a situation isn't the best idea. Instead, you gotta play a game. A deadly game where either you have all the pieces on the board, or you have nothing. [previously known as Espionage: double-cross] Thanks for reading :)
