This was an end of the year school project for English I made in eleventh grade. We had just finished reading The Great Gatsby. Our assignment was to take a character from another story, movie, show, etc, then insert them into a scene from The Great Gatsby, then use this to write a new scene altogether. So basically a crossover fanfiction. The idea was for us to learn about character analysis and character motivations.
I took Janus from Sanders Sides and put him in the scene where Tom and Daisy go to one of Gatsby's parties together.

Janus Viper was once a handsome king, a cruel ruler that ruled his Kingdom with an iron fist. Even though he had everything he ever wanted since he was born (except, perhaps, love) he taxed his people relentlessly in order to fill his castle with the most beautiful objects, and his parties with the most powerful people. However, there is a cure for the curse. If Janus can learn to truly love another and be loved in return, the curse will be cured. As the years went by, the castle and everyone in it became forgotten, and Janus lost hope. For who could ever love someone as cold and monstrous as him? Meanwhile, in a small village nearby, a Wizard named Logan Foster is looked down on by his town for his startling intelligence, difficulty in social situations, and his practices of magic. That doesn't deter Roman Prince from attempting to court Logan, however, because even if he is odd, Logan is the most handsome man in the village, and Roman has always enjoyed a challenge. Not wishing for his son to be alone, Patton Foster agrees to give Roman his blessing. Logan, who doesn't wish to get married, runs away from home. He plans to build a cabin in the forest and live the rest of his days there, but instead he finds a castle, where he is invited to stay as a guest. (Yes changing the captive part you're welcome) He isn't sure yet who the Castle's Master is, but based on the talking furniture that allowed him to stay here, he assumes it's a fellow Wizard. Roman and Remus Dukes are trying to cope with their dad's recent death. Logan Berry isn't sure how to tell anyone but those closest that he is trans. Virgil Storm is the new kid in school, and his mom's the principal. Patton Hart is just trying to welcome the new principal with some students. Janus Duplis is just ready to skip school and avoid people. So what happens when they get detention together, and then find a set of mysterious bracelets hanging from a statue? I want to put a disclaimer here. I have never written a hero fic, or any real sort of action paced book, so this might be in a lot of detail as my brain works in detail, this is mainly a practice style for a fic of these characters that i wanted to practice first. If i get a lot of feedback, i can go back can shorten where i need to. Title says most of it, but there was another sander's sides ranger au and I desperately wanted to try my hand at it. The story switches perspectives, and has princxiety, logicality, and demus. this is also a more mature version of power rangers, so cursing, death, and more mature themes (no smut since I'm ace). Fair warning, this does have trans Logan, and I do mention body dysmorphia, so if those things bother you, please take the time and put yourself first! Janus 'Deceit' Sanders and Remus 'Duke' Sanders have been bestfriends since the split, though Janus acted as the responsible, adult one despite being the same age. This is based on a role play I did in a Sanders Sides fan group. It is also inspired by the show Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts and a podfic called The Selfish Protector by DragonSaphira Reads. Anyway synopsis: Janus wasn't sure where it had all gone wrong. Everything had been going so well. He'd been getting along better with the ligh- 'other' sides, Roman and Virgil had definitely seemed to be getting used to his presence in videos, and they'd even been inviting him to join in on their famILY traditions. Where had it gone wrong? His snake half. Janus had noticed that he'd been adopting more reptilian traits. Shedding? Fine. A few extra scales? Easy to hide... mostly. But it's become more and more prominent and more and more painful and frustrating to deal with. Janus won't ask for help, fearing the others might start to not trust him again and undo everything he'd worked for. How will this go?
