The Darkness (A Prologue)

Left alone in the depths of one's own mind can seem daunting. Forced inside those depths, held against your will, never to return - unfathomable.

(The prologue from a novel manuscript I'm currently in the process of drafting. My test readers felt it was intriguing enough to stand on its own as a short story.)
