I see her head pop up from the shelves. The first thing I see is her hair, then her forehead, then her eyes. I didn't need to see her mouth to know she was smiling, but when I see her entire face, I’m assured. She has a wide smile, showing all teeth. What is with this girl?
I move from behind the counter to get to her, and I try to smile back to her, but I think I might look like the buffoon she just called Tyler. When I get to her, I stick out my hand.
“Drew,” I say, waiting for her to shake my hand. It feels awkward for my hand to just stick out in the air like it is.
She reaches behind her ear, took a stem of lavender from it, and sticks it in my hand. She acts like it’s the most normal thing to do when introducing themselves. I wonder if she’s a spawn of hippies.
“Quincy,” she introduces, adding, “Conner.”
