------------- "Why're you staring at me?" I ask teasingly. I hear him letting out a breath, of embarrassment or guilt I don't know. "I may have unintentionally hurt you, on several occasions. I may have done the wrong thing more than once. But despite all of that I still like you, hell if I know I might love you. I've never felt the way I feel about you for anyone else before. I can't stop thinking about you. Your laugh, your smile, your voice. How you manage to pull a joke at a time like this, to how peaceful, and beautiful you look when you're sleeping." I smile. "You okay? Did you hit your head or somethin'?" I tease. "Shut up." ------------------------- Olivia, a 16-year-old girl with a tragic past. Her sister was kidnapped and brutally killed, her father comes up with the brilliant idea of moving. As she's getting settled in school, she meets this mysterious boy, and before she knows it she is dragged into hell. Literally. Figuring out that the kidnapper is connected to the murder of her sister, might be her downfall. Especially when she finds out her big family secret, and the terrifying fact that her classmate, is in fact, a demon. How will she deal with the new turn of events and how her life has been turned completely upside down. Especially when she was convinced that she would only focus on school, something that is now so far down on her list of important things to worry about, that she barely even remembers to show up to class. The Princess's Affection
Bianca's father died after she finished her national service, and it was quite difficult for her as she had to take on the responsibilities of taking care of her sick mother and siblings. At that time, before the death of her father, who was the breadwinner of the family and responsible for taking care of his sick wife and family. But when her father died, the weight was so heavy on her that she didn't have a job or money to sustain herself and her family, or even to pay for and perform all necessary burial rites. Oyinola Adebayo, who is Bianca's friend and whose parents are wealthy, assisted in taking care of her father's burial rites and Bianca's mother's hospital bills. Bianca, a God-fearing Christian, applied to several companies but got rejected despite being a first-class graduate of business administration. Heavily saddened by the rejections from companies she had applied to, she began working in a local restaurant in order to provide for her family and pay her mother's hospital bills. One day, after work at night, Bianca found a lady who was stranded and soaked in the rain. Feeling sad and bad about once being in her shoes, helped her and spent her last penny on her, ordered a cab, and took her to her home. The seduction dripped off of her tongue, just like I desired to be, her low voice entrancing me with the dangerously sadistic melodies of a siren song, with the most terribly sinful lyrics. "I could kill you right now, Angel." She inched closer towards me. "Right here," she said, her eyes raking over my body, sizing me up, slowly. The lustful grey in them soon lifted back up, intimidating mine. Her harsh words screamed murderous intent, but the look in her eyes whispered a different kind of sin. I couldn't tell whether my breath hitched at her cruel threat, or the yearning pulse between my... She interrupted my stream of consciousness, poisoning it with every still second, keeping her gaze on mine as her depraved hand reached out to caress the bruised side of my neck. "But I have something else in mind." ──────────────────── No one ever says it out loud. What she really is. Dangerous. Heartless. Merciless. A murderer. Everyone knows it. And now, she's in control. The Sign of Raphael (Rough Draft Novella)
If you read one thing from me in your whole life, please don't let it be this. This was a rough draft for a class, and my first written work of such a magnitude (other than perhaps some interactive fiction, which was better). I tried to handle it as a short story, and honestly it fails in that criteria. I've added chapters and some revisions to make it less odious. There is improvement throughout the novella, though there are also really obvious errors I haven't bothered to correct and wouldn't make nowadays. Supernatural-twinged cyberpunk action-adventure novella with a mystical-religious overtone. Dates back to February 2013. This is from a while back, and I was more into writing action than writing deeper more philosophical stuff. Not that it didn't try. Had to write it for a class, but I really did enjoy doing it at the time. Although it aimed to just be urban fantasy, the successor was set in one of my overarching settings I worked on for years. The instructor told me at the end of class that "You will make a great teacher, you give excellent feedback." Just be forewarned: this novella is a rough draft for a final draft damned by faint praise.Concluida
