*There once was a village, ruled by Elders. The Elders swore to protect their people, and they did. Vampires live in the darkest part of this forever sunny place. After the Elders died, they stayed guarding their people. The legends were passed down, generation to generation. After a while, people believed it to be a fairy tale. So that is where our story begins.

Did it look like I had whiskers and meowed?' I mentally scolded at him.

I almost choke on the piece of chocolate covered strawberry as I saw Alpha Liam from the Crimson Fangs Pack come walking towards me with a smile. I start looking behind me to see if he's really looking at someone else but I notice it's just me standing here. Once he approaches me, he holds out his hand. "May I have this dance?" He asks in a deep husky voice. I stare at him in shock and then quickly snap out of the trance that his gorgeous green eyes has captured my attention. "Y-Yes." I reply softly as I place the strawberry stem down onto the napkin on the table and place my hand into his as he begins escorting me out to the middle of the dance floor. I can feel everyone's eyes staring at us as they're smiling except for my brother's and his pack along with most of the girls' eyes that are shooting daggers at me right now. However, none of them matter. I suddenly am finding myself looking back into his eyes and not being able to blink. I know this might sound cliche and all but really, once we begin dancing to the music together I feel almost as though it's a scene from a movie. My heart is skipping a beat and I'm feeling my knees becoming a little weak. Why, out of every other beautiful girl that's here, why would he choose me? Did my brother set me up and paid him to come and dance with me, just to embarrass me even more? Alpha Liam is dancing with me. He is ruthless and is one of the most feared and yet most respected Alpha's there is and his training is intense as is also trying to get into his pack. I heard it's near impossible to and that not many last. He is someone you don't say 'no' to. While most of the world chose to intermingle and live in coexistence, two countries remained the outliers. North America split into territories. The werewolves took most of the mid- western side, save for the coast that had been more city dominated. The vampires claimed the coastal sides that were city dominated. A few decades after the treaty, the boundary lines blurred but still existed. Witches and humans intermixed; some preferred the solitude the forests provided while others liked the constant movement of the cities. No one was restricted to specific sides. There were stories of others, the fae and merfolk. They had long since died out during the war. Humans now threatened to follow in their footsteps.
