They were all born and lived in LA Cali. riley's relationship with her mum was never the best, she is definitely a daddy's girl and will forever call him her best friend. 

so when all hell broke lose on riley and lachlans 9th birthday, causing their dad (michael) to leave their mum (rosalie), after finding out she had been having an affair with her coworker, they all left their mum to move to Australia with michael. 
That is until tragic events take place meaning riley and her brothers must move back to live with their mother after years since leaving LA.
