Y/n died in an instant. The next time she opens her eyes, she's standing in the fog outside Death's door. Literally.

Y/n dies in a car crash, leaving behind her beloved younger sister and joining Death in an afterlife vastly different from the stories. Death is a young, quiet, but undoubtedly real person.

After five years without a companion, Death chooses Y/n as his Raven: the one who will help him sort the dead, hunt the lost, and decide fates no living heart should ever witness.

Y/n wants nothing to do with him or the afterlife she didn't choose. All she wants is her sister, safe in her arms. Meanwhile, Death, who has forgotten much of what it means to be human, wants a companion who doesn't mind spending an entire century with him.

In a realm where nothing truly lives, Y/n may be the first thing to make Death feel alive again. And maybe, in some strange way, she'll do the same for herself.
