"'Cause I'm not worth fighting for."
His lips met mine softly, lingering only for heartbeats until he leaps out of the truck and heads toward the other greasers.
How dare he say that! If anything, I'm the one who isn't worth fighting for. But why would he say that? Especially to me?
As I watched him line up with the other greasers, getting ready for the rumble, I caught his eyes on me. I couldn't help but blush. Why do I feel this way? Why did I enjoy the kiss?
When the rumble began, all I could do was bite my lip and keep my eyes on Sodapop. I don't care if he doesn't think he's not worth saving, because...he is to me.

(18+ EXPLICIT CONTENT) "Attract a lot of attention, huh beautiful?" His voice hit me like a wall, absurdly catching me off guard. It was deep, sensual, something any girl (or boy) could melt over. I was sort of speechless, yet trying my best to appear unafflicted. "Only the wrong ones." That was definitely drunken me talking, as I didn't usually have that much confidence. His lips twitched up into a smirk, expressing that he understood my comment. "Does that mean that I'm in that category?" My palms began to grow sweaty and my heart rate picked up, but otherwise my body remained relaxed, appearing completely fine. It similar to when you're on autopilot, completely withdrawn due to intoxication. "I suppose not," I crossed my arms, putting on this seductive persona just for him. This fueled his smirk, about to murmur another comment before I cut him off. "You'll have to show me, though." *** Amelia Hollis was a 23-year-old writer at one of the local publishing companies, assisting a very handsome man and writing articles left and right. Her and her best friend, Aviary, lived together in a cute little apartment off the central part of the city, yearning to create new memories and important moments. Amelia always lived for the moments, taking in every little detail and savoring it like it was her favorite meal. She was an optimist, hoping to change peoples lives with her dreams. James Vallette was a 34-year-old CEO, building his company from dirt with the help of his brother. He was a realist, not really having time to deal with dreams or even love. He knew this the night he laid eyes on Amelia. It was only casual; what harm could a one-night stand do? Oh yeah, he's her dad's boss.

*****THIS STORY WILL BE COMING DOWN! PUBLISHING IT ON AMAZON KINDLE!****** "What really happened to you?" He asked touching my swollen cheek. I backed away . "I told you what happened. I am a klutz." I argued "I can tell when you are lying. Any other time I would have given you space but you come back with your face beat up? And you will not tell us what happened? I want to know. This is involving your health and I need to know." He said seriously "There is nothing to say." I said turning to walk away. He gently grabbed my arm stopping me. I winced involuntarily. I think he saw me. "Who did this to you?" He asked pleading. I looked at him for a few moments. "No one." I lied again "You're lying" He observed "God! You are so......so.....so damn frustrating! You do not know when to back off! Why can't you just leave me alone!" I fumed "Because it is you we are talking about" he said stepping closer "What does that have to do with anything?!" I questioned backing up as he stepped closer "Because I don't want you hurt" he said getting even closer. I backed up till I couldn't any more "Why? I am not important. I don't mean anything. The only reason I am even stayed alive this long is because of Aaron!" I spat. "Don't you ever say that! You are not nothing! You are important!" He growled in anger "Yeah right! Like you would know!" i retorted. We glared at each other for a few second then Marc grabbed my face in his hand and passionately kissed me. I was taken by surprise. We kissed for a few minutes until I pulled away and turned my head. "Forget this happened" I whispered as I walked past him back to the others and he quickly followed.

"Silly boy - you dare ask me that question?" I frown at him instantly - taken aback when he gripped my chin. Yanking me close enough towards him, our lips almost touched. The look in his eyes was one I've seen in wild animals who can't control their animalistic behaviors. Except this one was different...it held desire - which I wasn't for at all. "I became Unhinged because of you." That's when I saw him begin to lean towards me, and wasn't having this any longer. I shove my hand onto his lips right when he was about to kiss me. My eyes glaring into his despite the risks of me doing so. "I refuse for my first kiss to be from someone like you." I growl at him, his eyes widening in shock. That's when I push him back and got off of the couch. I saw him watching me with feral eyes that told me I probably angered him even more. Possibly heightening the chances of my removal from this horrid competition. Except I'm not like the other contestants here. Having him isn't my dream, my dream is helping my family - and being here does that. I could care less if he becomes Unhinged. Especially if it's because of me. *read "Prologue" for story description* 😊💕
