After being imprisoned, two people from vastly different worlds have the same goal: survive the Trials of the Fallen. They have to work together to face over five-hundred other prisoners in seven deadly challenges, but only one person can win. Valory is a noble who was locked away by her parents because she was a disgrace and an embarrassment to them. Unlike every other person in the Heart - the wealthy section of the kingdom reserved for those with magic - she has no power. Juniper is a farmer who, when he was about to lose everything, went to extreme lengths to protect those he cares about, regardless of the cost to himself. They'll have to use every ounce of wit and courage they have to survive the Trials and keep each other alive.
