[EXTENDED SUMMARY]:

"Merpeople can have vendettas?" Jisung gasps."For centuries? Can't you repent for that shit?!"

Chan shakes his head, "Not always. Merpeople are incredibly loyal to their families, friends, and especially their ancestors. They'll do anything to protect them and their legacy. Even if it means seeking vengeance."

"Chan... this mer-freak is trying to kill me," Jisung says, annunciating each syllable to add gravity to the situation. "And you're too busy trying to be a mer-cyclopedia rather than provide solutions!"

Just last night, Jisung wouldn't have believed in Chan's faulty 'mer-hypotheses'. 

It takes an unconventional encounter with the species and the possibility of a curse for Jisung to not only believe, but embark on a convoluted, mind-altering adventure.
