This story is about Raeliana Carter, A powerful muggle born witch struggling to navigate her new life at Hogwarts. She comes from a life stained with abuse and neglect, her muggle parents abandoned her at a young age when she developed her power, believing she was cursed or demonic. They left her in the hands of foster care. She was thrown from home to home, cementing the idea she didn't belong. At the age of 17, the Muggles Studies professor happened to sense her magic when visiting a small town in Louisiana, USA. He was following and studying the way muggles reacted/handled their fear of witches and voodoo. While following a rumor he heard from the locals about a young girl who grew up there, he found Raeliana shackled in an unfinished basement of a seemingly abandoned home, starved and beaten. Her screams and pleas for help as a child caused irreparable damage to her vocal chords. Professor Drake was horrified and immediately brought her to St. Mungos for care. She then spent the summer recovering and learning how to control the magic she was hated for. she anticipated her new life as a witch at Hogwarts, not expecting the cruelty she will face for being a muggle born...a mudblood, nor the trials and tribulations placed on her for an unseen battle between good and evil.
